Thoughts and Facts in No Particular Order

1) My Director has already asked me to stay another year, even though I haven´t even taught a class yet (tomorrow I will start). I think this is more a sign of the lack of English teachers in this country than my teaching skills.

2) The same lovebirds people keep as pets in the US, fly around and live in palm trees in the wild here.

3) I´ve thus far named the two roosters in my yard. I can´t think of any hen names yet. The big rooster is named Whitey. Because I once saw a mobster movie where the boss, who had a harem of chicks, was named whitey. The mob boss was pretty bad ass, as is my Whitey. And my whitey is white, too. The second rooster is appropriately named Little Shit. He is small, young and dumb and only has one hen of his own. He cock-a-doodle-friggin-do´s all the time because he´s stupid and insecure and thinks being vocal will make him a real man (rooster).

4) I´ve taken to psychoanalyzing chickens.

5) The howler monkey´s favorite game is ¨throw mangos at the gringa¨. Why did I never see this on the Discovery Channel?

6) There should be a warning system on unpaved roads, stating exactly how unpaved they are. Class 1: Somewhat bumpy, hold on to your bags so they don´t fall into the isles, Class 2: Wear a sportsbra, Class 3: Be prepared for places on your body you never knew could bounce, to bounce (i.e. finger, ankle and neck fat).

7) For Rabovsky: There is no Schnitzel in Costa Rica.
